Psalm 3:3
Who to turn to when you feel down.
“But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.”
Psalm 3 is attributed to King David. He was fleeing from his son Absalom who wanted to take the throne from him. It seems David’s adult life was one of adversity, some self-inflicted. But he loved God and God loved him. He promised David his throne would be everlasting, fulfilled through Jesus Christ who sits on an eternal throne. Both David and Jesus knew trials and challenges and managed to get through them by depending on God the Father.
We tend to keep our shoulders hunched and our heads hung low when we feel down. Because of God’s help, we can walk with our heads held high. We can be confident no matter the situation we are facing. God will protect us and be a shield for us. We can trust Him and turn to Him when we feel down. God will always lift us higher than we can even imagine.
